Dear Susan,
Yes, I will offer up Mass tommorrow for your intention for your three daughters. I can´t even imagine the heart-ache you must feel in seeing your daughters suffering so much and caught up in sinful lifestyles. There are a few things that would be helpful to your situation. First, all divorces wound deeply the hearts of the children whether they would admit it or not. The tendency is to find ways to survive the emotional trauma. Some dive into TV and become less and less in contact with their emotions. Others become rebelious and others turn to sex and drugs or overeating, etc. to drown out the terrible pain they feel. To overcome the drugs, rebellion, etc. they first need to be healed from the original wounds of thier childhood when they sensed the problems with you an thier father. I have written earlier about the benefits of Healing of Memories prayer where one begins to ask Jesus into these painful memories. The second thing that can help is to pray with them for the good of thier father (if you are not already doing so). It does not matter how old they are or how hard they may appear to be. I know of few children who would refuse to pray a simple Our Father prayer for the good of thier father. If you often become overwhelmed with all that is going on and lack peace in your daily life, I would recommend ALANON which is on the internet and where one can find a great support group which has wonderful materials to help find serenity amidst a chaotic family situation. May our Blessed Mother wrap you and your girls in her motherly mantle and bring you in to the safe harber of the Heart of Jesus. May your children be able to find thier true selves in a relationship with God the Father and be able thereby to find true loving relationships.
Shalom,
Fr. Isaac

Father,
I most humbly ask for prayers for my three daughters. The 2 oldest are in their 20's and the youngest is 17. I raised all of them in the Catholic faith and none of them practice it. The oldest is a gentle, lovely girl but living with her boyfriend , the middle daughter is bipolar, very angry, used drugs excessively and only contacts me when she needs something/money and my youngest goes to Catholic high school and has been in trouble with the law and drugs. I am heartbroken as I look back and wonder "where I went wrong?" Their father and I are divorced for many years. This was not my choice but I tried to make the best of it. I pray and witness about Jesus and His love for all to my children. I will not give up on them. I believe we must love our children as the Father loves us, no matter what we say or do. I daily surrender them to the Father in prayer, giving Him everything. Please, Father, a prayer or Mass offered would be a most beautiful gift . Thank you.

Fr. Isaac;

Glory and praise to God! Oh, Papa! You are so good to us! Thank you for offering HOLY MASS for our community and for the offer to call Carley! I am not real close to her family, but I did speak with her father at one of the girl's funeral. She is only allowing very close family and friends to visit her. I'm not sure when she would be allowed to attend school again, but I image that will be very difficult for her. It appears that the community will embrace Carley to help her on her way, but there is always the threat of insensitive comments, whether intended or not. I will speak to one of her parents to see how she might feel to receive this grace from the hand of God. Oh, thank you for the offer!

I'll be sure to tell them of your wonderful ministry in Peru, and of course all the stories of Father Philip! I'll share my experiences at three of his retreats and let them know that he will be just 8 hours south of us in April at Our Sorrowful Mother's Ministry. I can't wait to see him! Really, I'm not a creeper (as my 6 children tell me)! His story of God's Fatherly love for us, His children really hits home for me.

I never in my wildest dreams expected your love and compassioned filled offer of a phone call to Carley. All praise and glory to God our Father forever and ever!!

Thank you!

Papa, continue to bless everyone of you, most especially His poor whom you minister to.

Dear GEK,
Yes, we will pray for your intention. May the Lord send His holy angels to protect your daughter and her children and may He also grant the blessed grace of conversion for ex-husband. The greatest challenge that may be faced here is to love the enemy. God wants to be in His Will which is always the conversion of poor miserable sinners (of which I am on the list). A man such as this has deep wounds and hurts which Satan uses to manipulate him in hurting others and himself. What a great work of grace if he should be healed and repent for his hurtfull actions. Oh Lord, hear our prayer. May all who have hurt us be converted and be with us one day in heaven. Help us to forgive and protect us from all evil. May your victory be realized in the poor needy life of our families. Thank you Father for all your gifts.

Dear Karen,
We will pray for your intention at Mass Tommorrow. Tragedies such as this do deeply affect a community and can be trials that tempt us to give up on life. I pray that somebody will help Carley to trust in the infinite mercy of God. Jesus wants to always give us life. The other day I was in the hospital with a young girl who was in a terrible motorcycle accident. Her boyfriend died and she was in traction waiting an operation. I asked her to visualize herself at the accident which she did and to ask that Jesus and Mary come to her help. They did and throughout her ordeal and even after the operation, she told me that Jesus and Mary never left her side and that Jesus helped in curing her head injury and that Mary was helping her with the injury in her leg which was broken in three places. She is out of the hospital now and doing well. Having faith and inviting our Lord and our Lady to be at our side is so important. What would it have been like for this young girl to face such a tragedy without them. I don´t know if I could take it. Karen, please let me know if Carley would be open to recieving a phone call. May God bless you and all your prayer intentions.

Could you please pray for the families of Campbellsport, WI who were affected by a serious car accident that involved 9 local teen girls? Three of the girls died (Catilin Scannell, Sabrina Stahl, and Katie Berg). The other six girls are at various stages of healing either in the hospital or at home. Most especially please lift up the driver of the car, Carley Ottery who is under suicide watch. We pray that this entire community will embrace her and fill her with the love and mercy of Jesus. Papa, these are your children have mercy! Thank you Papa that you hear the cry of your poor. Keep us close to you!

Dear Father,
Please have your community pray for my family. My daughter got married over 5 years ago to a godless man and 3 months ago he just abandoned her and their 2 boys, ages 3 and 5 and got engaged to younger girl a month later. Now they are involved in a bitter divorce and child custody. This man is presently harassing my daughter and is demanding the boys on a daily basis, he is cruel to my daugher and has not been involved with nurturing and bonding with the boys since birth, but now he is with this other woman he wants to take the boys. Please pray for Letisha, Lucas and Logan that God will turn away all negative and evil energy from them and help them to feel protected and comforted. I ask that God gives me the strength to get through this too. Thank you.

Dear Kathy,
I wish you peace amidst the great storms of life which you face every day. My heart goes out to you and I lifted up your intention at Mass today. I would really recommend that you read some of the previous advice given on this blog especially finding a prayer of protection on the web and to have masses said for your family with the intention of healing the family from all the consequences of sins of our ancestors. Take great courage. You mentioned a son who prayed to Satan. There was a man who was a satanic priest who had such a strong conversion that he is recognized by the Church as a saint. Keep praying without losing hope as did Saint Monica for her husband and her son (St. Augustine) who were both very difficult. The power of prayer is so powerfull. May Our Lady intercede with St. Joseph for your intention to our merciful Lord.
Peace to your Heart,

Fr. Isaac

Dear Monique,
I know we have taken a long time in getting to your prayer request, but I will take you intention before the Blessed Sacrament right now. To fight for the truth is so important in todays age of relativism. For those who do not know. Relativism is that what may be truth for you may not be truth to me. This makes everything subjective, or relative. Nothing can be said to be concretely, indisputably, TRUE. We neeeed truth! The world neeeeds truth desperately but chooses opinion and thus few people feel obliged to commit to anything that calls for sacrifice. Not to family life, not to true living of a religious commitment, not to political integrity, nor to true friendship.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the Truth, and the Life." I want something to live and to die for, and that something better be true.
Part of the big problem is that people have grown up with parents who lie and go to schools where relativism is taught as the only truth. That is to say that the only truth is that reality is all relative to ones personal experience. How sad. I must say, however, that this does not diminish the value of personal experience. Reflecting on our personal experience and those of others helps us to come to an encounter with the truth. The problem is when we don´t look for the deeper universal truths that are revealed in our experiences (good and bad, successes and failures) and in those of others (especially those given by revelation in the Holy Scriptures). May we of this lost generation find the Truth that really matters, that gives us something to live and die for, something that is noble, true, just, and eternal. May we find more of Jesus who leads us to the Father who lives in an eternal relationship of perfect loving trust which is an eternal unchangeable truth and to which we poor creatures are wonderously/mysteriously invited.
Shalom,
Fr. Isaac
